Hello all. Just popping in to scratch my head at my President Bush's remarks against the Minutemen border patrol. And now that Salvadoran gang is going to send their guys to fight the Minutemen. Is this going to be another chum fest for the mainstream media, eating up the possibly bloodied Minutemen and staining their characters with pejoratives while at the same time sympathizising and aiding the Salvadoran gange members? I know for a fact that the mainstream (i.e., leftist) media hates the idea of anything that smacks of patriotism and just the name "Minutemen" produces wailing and moaning and gnashing of teeth among the elite leftist intelligentsia. My thought is that those who will patrol the border (the Minutemen) will be villified and labeled while the illegals and gang members will be canonized.|
One small incident at the video store I work at on weekends happened just 3 days ago as I happened to remark to a gentleman that asked me to find him a copy of "Sister Act II" -- "Oh, by the way," I said, "that Sister Act movie has been called a Christian movie by some Christian screenwriters."
The gentleman blew his top, began yelling in my direction, "I don't give a damn about any Christian Right and what they have to say!"
I was a bit perplexed at this volcanic reaction, so I approached the fellow. He was at the cashier's and was loudly mumbling about that "goddam Bush being re-elected" and "everything's turned to crap since Bush was president."
I began to discuss the merits of John Kerry. The gentleman told me that Kerry was good because he "led men in battle." He said he voted for Kerry because he himself served in the Navy at one time. I said, "What about the Swift Boat Vets?" and he replied, "Oh yeah, when there's money involved, people will do or say anything." I dropped that subject because I realized I was talking to a Democrat Party useful idiot. I said that I honored John Kerry for his service in the US military but I did not think his 19 years in the Senate were very productive. The gentleman said, "Well, you know, when a Senate bill came to John Kerry he would see all the pork in it and then vote against it." I told the gentleman, "Sir, it is a known fact that Kerry did nothing for 20 years in the Senate." Gentleman's voice was not so gentle now as it went up several decibels -- "That's nothing but propaganda! The goddam Christian Right." He was speaking to no one now, for I had removed myself to the Children's Section of the store.
